Mario Pagliaro was invited to the
24th
Conference on International Exchange of Professionals (CIEP)
held in Xiong’an, China, where on July 9th he also presented
research and educational achievements in >25 years of work
conducted in
Italy in collaboration with scientists from
>20 countries (

Organized by the
Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the
Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of China, in
partnership with the
Hebei Provincial Government and the
New Xiong’an Area Administrative Committee, the 24th CIEP brought
together officials, leaders of government institutions scientists,
researchers and specialists from over 30 countries to discuss
strategies for strengthening international scientific and
technological cooperation.
With the theme “
Gathering Global Talent to Pursue Win-Win
Cooperation”, the conference aimed to expand integration
between researchers, universities, research centers and innovative
companies from
different parts of the world.
The
opening ceremony was attended by officials from the
Chinese government, Hebei province and the CAS, including CAS vice
president
Wang Keqiang, as well as representatives of
bodies responsible for international cooperation in science and
technology and attracting foreign experts.
At the end of the opening ceremony, Dr Pagliaro participated in
the session “Gathering Global Talent, Building Xiongan’s Future
Together" (jointly organized by the Hebei Provincial Department of
Science and Technology and Tangshan Municipal Bureau of Science
and Technology in partnership with the conference organization),
along with several distinguished speakers including Professors
Jerzy
Duszyński, president of the Polish Academy of Sciences,
Udaya
Madawala, University of Auckland renowned expert in power
electronics and wireless power transmission, National Academy of
Science and Engineering of Germany (acatech – Deutsche Akademie
der Technikwissenschaften) member
Ömer Sahin Ganiyusufoglu,
and
Riaz Uddin, NED University of Engineering and
Technology, renowned for his contributions in the fields of haptic
teleoperation and smart healthcare.
Along with all other Professors invited to the session, Dr
Pagliaro was
appointed Foreign Expert Consultant by the
Hebei (Tangshan) Offshore Innovation and Entrepreneurship Base for
Overseas Talents.
"
I will be pleased to act as a bridge between Italy and China
for matters related to our research in green chemistry, new
energy science and technology and the bioeconomy" said Dr
Pagliaro opening his presentation on July 9.
Participants at CIEP 24 included the presidents of Academia
Brasileira de Ciências,
Helena Nader, and Academia
Europaea,
Don Dingwell.
