Neurlolinguistic Programming and Palo Alto's School

The NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) is the formidable synthesis about how the human mind works made in mid 1970s by John Grinder and Richard Bandler (two Americans).

The two started from the work of anthropologist Gregory Bateson, physcian Don D. Jackson and psychologist Paul Watzlawick of the Mental Research Institute in Palo Alto (California, USA), in particular, focusing on "brief therapy".

The so-called Palo Alto's School — in its turn largely inspired by the Gestalt Therapy of Fritz Perls.

Used in disparate contexts all over the world -- from sport to management; from research to marketing and to psycotherapy -- the NLP has led to incredible successes in individual improvement as well as organizational performance, so much as to have been associated to "magics". Yet, even if not exempt from serious critics, the Nlp rightly emphasizes the central idea of Bateson and of the systems theory:

The central role played by form and relation over content; and thus the need to work on the relations for understanding of the origins of problems to achieve effective solutions.

Change avoiding failure

The theme is of extreme interest and in fact it is central to every improvement effort, whether personal or organizational -- and thus to human organizations, being companies or public services.

Take for instance bureaucratic application of legislation such as that happened with EU's health and safety at work law: Coinceved to "improve" health and safety, it resulted in general deteriorations of both health and safety in most European workplaces.

That is: plan change to improve and get worse

Similar results were recorded upon applying the ISO 9000 standard to improve quality: quality worsened and costs went out of control.

As quality at work is measured with money, to start and to keep an improvement program must result in costs abatment which normally is a figure between 25 and 40% of turnover.

And yet companies certified ISO 9000 do not record any appreciable profit raise!

Mario Pagliaro uses NLP as operational instrument to plan his management courses. Mario also gives classe on NLP to provide his trainees with effective change tool to be used in the improvement process within companies or public organizations.

Flexibility and Awareness

At the heart of NLP is a wide range of methods and models it offers for understanding how people behave and change. It offers a flexible approach which brings about positive, fast change in individuals and organisations and empowers them to adapt to an ever-shifting world.

NLP training provides the skills to define and achieve your outcomes allowing you to remain flexible, on track and maintain rapport with those around you. It definetely deserves to be learnt. It will be a joy. Do not wait any longer and apply for one good course!
