The Future of Glycerol: New Book in 2008

Our new book "The future of glycerol - New uses of a versatile raw material" is in production and will be published early in 2008 by RSC Publishing.

Written by Mario Pagliaro and Michele Rossi this nicely illustrated monograph will be a true living book, in which updates will be posted online maiking it similar to a living review such as those recenly introduced by Chem. Rev.

The book discusses the uses of glycerol as a new raw material -- an hot topic of contemporary chemical research -- and is aimed at chemistry professionals, be them managers or researchers. Indeed, users of the book include consultants and managers of the chemical industry as well as research chemists and engineers in industry and academy.

A large surplus of glycerol byproduct of biodiesel production has entered the chemical market which caused closing of existing glycerol plants and opening of plants that use glycerol as a raw material for the production of value-added chemicals.

The book is written in a clear, concise style which makes its reading attractive. Hence, elucidation of the principles governing the new chemistry of glycerol goes along with updated updated industrial information that is generally difficult to retrieve.

The Seminar
Mario Pagliaro presents the numerous uses of glycerol as a new raw material in a workshop to be held directly at your company or in the nice city of Palermo. The course combines lecture and discussion. The optimal class size is between 8 and 15, but this tutorial can be structured to accommodate any number of participants.

The course in intended for industry's top managers and for R&D and marketing managers alike as well as consultants, research chemists and engineers. Attendees are not limited to chemistry specialists; rather general, marketing and product managers can benefit as well.

Please contact Mario Pagliaro at mario.pagliaro@gmail.com if you are interested in more information or would like to request this workshop.
