Impact Factors 2006

Large changes in the impact factors of chemistry journals published last week by Thomson. RSC's Journal of Materials Chemistry’s rose to 4.287, (a 16% increase over last year’s figure). Soft Matter (launched June 2005), received its first impact factor of 4.39; Green Chemistry rises to 4.19; Organic & Biomolecular Chemistry and Natural Product Reports have both increased their impact factors to 2.87 and 8.89, respectively.

The Journal of Physical Chemistry A gets an impact factor of 3.047; whereas its sister journal The Journal of Physical Chemistry B is the most-cited journal in physical chemistry with an impact factor of 4.115 in 2006.
Angewandte Chemie has received a double-digit journal impact factor: 10.232 (2006; 2005: 9.596). The Journal of the American Chemical Society rises to 7.696 from 7.419 in 2005) while Chemical Communications attains 4.521; from 4.426 in 2005). Tetrahedron has increased to 2.817; and Tetrahedron Letters to 2.509. Journal of Molecular Catalysis A-Chemical rises to 2.511.
