C&EN sends its reporter
Mitch Jacobi to see what's taking place with
chemistry in Israel, a country founded by chemists.
Mitch, unfortunately, entirely omits Jerusalem and its university from the resulting reportage. Yet, I am certain that C&EN will shortly cover Jerusalem's superb chemistry.
Not only because, for instance, the great
David Avnir works there. Nor because of the beauty of the Givat Ram campus. But also because of the role played by Albert Einstein in establishing this fascinating university.
A hint for the colleaugues in Washington: the papers of Albert are conserved at the fantastic
National Library just inside the Givat Ram campus.
In the meanwhile if you are considering whether or not
going to Israel for your postodc, don't doubt anymore.
Pack your baggage and reach out that wonderful country!
