Better chemistry through ceramics!
The beautiful article for J. Phys. Chem. B written along with Rosaria Ciriminna, Michel Wong Chi Man and Sandro Campestrini paraphrases the title of the Materials Research Society symposia held in the mid 1990s on hybrid materials.
Yet, maybe only David Avnir could imagine 10 years ago what would have happened with (sol-gel) ceramics actually improving the practice of chemistry in so many sectors and with such an impact.
