Flexible solar cells
(Workshop)

Mario Pagliaro, co-author of Flexible solar cells, presents the numerous flexible solar photovoltaic technologies directly at your company.

This full-day course combines lecture and discussion. The optimal class size is between 5 and 10, but this tutorial can be structured to accommodate any number of participants.

This tutorial is intended for industry's top and R&D managers as well as for management consultants and engineers.

Attendees are not limited to technology specialists; rather general, marketing and general managers can benefit as well.

As climate change meets peak oil producing enormous changes, solar electricity produced by new thin-film photovoltaics (TFPV), integrated photovoltaic-thermal technologies, and medium and large sized new concentrated solar power plants, holds the key to solve the energy and environmental global crisis.

Topic of this full-day workshop include:

  1. Flexible solar cells
  2. New PV technologies
  3. New thermal-PV technologies
  4. Emerging technologies
  5. PV Technology Trend
  6. The Solar Energy Market
  7. Islamic finance and Solar Energy
  8. Insight on the Solar Age
  9. Helionomics

Growth in the photovoltaic industry these days is phenomenal. World photovoltaic installations last year amounted to 2,826 MW of electricity-generating capacity, up 62% compared with 2006 and valued at $17.2 billion.

More than two-thirds of the installations were in Germany and Spain (and now in Italy and in California, too) where direct financial incentives favor solar panel installation.

In this context, installation of thin-film systems more than doubled last year and now account for some 12% of solar installations around the world, because thin-film photovoltaic panels are less expensive to manufacture than traditional polysilicon-based panels and have considerably lowered the barrier to entry into the photovoltaic energy business.
